The French Open doubles champions are now the ASB Classic victors.
The Czech pair of Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Haradecka were too strong for the new pairing of Flavia Pennetta and Julia Goerges in today’s ASB Classic doubles final which was forced indoors because of heavy rain.
But the Grand Slam champions were taken to three sets by the Italian and German in a match that swung one way and then the other within minutes.
In the super tiebreak third set the Czechs took out the match 6-7 (2) 6-2 10-7 with a couple of simple mistakes being the difference between the two pairings.
