Benneteau Stuns Ferrer to Reach Malaysian Open Final Versus Monaco

 

France’s Julien Benneteau upset top-seeded David Ferrer of Spain 6-4, 6-1 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.

Benneteau will face second seeded Juan Monaco of Argentina in Sunday’s final. The Argentine came back from trailing 2-5 in the final set to stop Japan’s Kei Nishikori 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4).
