(November 18, 2012) Shingo Kunieda of Japan followed up his victory in last week’s NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters by winning the men’s title with Stephane Houdet of France. Olympic silver medallists Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot of Netherlands won the women’s title.
The Invacare Doubles Masters was first played in 2000 alongside the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters for singles players. It became a standalone event in 2003 and was held in Italy from 2003 until 2010. In 2011, the event moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is the most prestigious doubles event on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour which in 2012 featured over 170 events in more than 40 countries.
