On the Green Carpet for Taste of Tennis at No.14 On the Greatest Hits Countdown


Taste of Tennis was one of the many events we covered on the site and on twitter during “2010 US Open Party Patrol week”- the week before the US Open actually began.

We’re celebrating 2010 with a countdown of the site’s “Greatest Hits.” In addition we mark the end of our third year as an outlet with news of our own: the site is currently undergoing a re-design and a re-launch with a new name to be announced just before the new site goes live before the end of the month. The rankings were determined by the number of hits between December 10, 2009 through December 10, 2010. The countdown will continue through New Year’s Day.

August 28, 2010 – New York,  NY- Dunlop launched its Biomimetic racquet line on Saturday with a party at the Union Square Ballroom which included Dunlop players Fernando Verdasco, Nikolay Davydenko, Dominika Cibulkova, John McEnroe, Tommy Robredo,
Jurgen Melzer, Nicolas Almagro and Ross Hutchins. The event was in association with TENNIS.com.

New York, NY – August, 27th – adidas Store at 610 Broadway In Manhattan – The celebration for the 10th anniversary for the adidas Barricade. Along with some historical product displays and a brief presentation, special guests  Justine Henin, Ana Ivanovic, Andy Murray and Jo Wilfred Tsonga made appearances and spoke about their experiences with the Barricade shoe.

From the Green Carpet – Taste of Tennis Photos



New York, NY – August 26, 2010 – Some of  world’s top tennis players and chefs served up culinary delights to celebrate the upcoming US Open are set to serve-up  at the 11th Annual BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis. Global Village Tennis News took in the “green carpet” arrivals and snapped a few photos. The party which was held at the W New York Hotel was presented by Rums of Puerto Rico to benefit the New York Junior Tennis League. Hits and Giggles – More Photos and Fun From Lights On, Lights Out. Nike Tennis Event

Posting a few random photos from the Nike event in NYC event on Pier 54 which featured Rafaal Nadal, Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka sporting their US Open Nike attire. An injured Serena Williams showed up as a mistress of ceremonies with new long tresses. Does any one else think that she has major hots for Rafa?


Normally I try to take an objective view of everything. Please take the Nike event for what it’s supposed to be – a fun frolic for fans, promotion for the US Open, a giant ad for Nike. Whatever you want to call it. So we are not solving the world’s problems, but at long last someone has finally burned those horrible pink shirts Rafa and Roger have been sporting and that makes me happy! Sorry for my crankiness, I usually write objectively as a journalist should but those of you who have to deal with the Long Island Railroad these days know what I’m talking about and I’ll leave it at that.
