Miami Open Releases Partial Schedule – Federer to Play Saturday Day, Del Potro to Play Friday Night

MIAMI OPEN RELEASES PARTIAL SCHEDULE
Federer to play Saturday day, Del Potro to play Friday night

MIAMI (March 19, 2018) – The Miami Open announces that defending champion Roger Federer will begin his quest for a fourth Miami title during the Saturday, March 24 day session (Session 9).

The tournament also announced that Juan Martin del Potro, fresh off his victory at Indian Wells, will be the featured Friday, March 23 evening session match (Session 8). Del Potro defeated Federer in a thrilling three-set final on Sunday.

Wednesday’s day session (Session 3) is already a blockbuster with 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams taking on Indian Wells champion Naomi Osaka. Also featured during the Wednesday, March 21 day session is three-time Miami Open champion Victoria Azarenka taking on young American CiCi Bellis.

Wednesday’s evening session (Session 4) will include 2006 Australian Open finalist Marcos Baghdatis as he faces American Jared Donaldson. The match will be followed by Olympic Gold Medalist Monica Puig against 2011 US Open champion Sam Stosur.                                                  

Six-time Miami Open champion Novak Djokovic will play his opening match during Friday’s day session (Session 7), while 2017 Miami Open semifinalist Nick Kyrgios will take the court during Saturday’s evening session (Session 10).

The fun is not limited to the action happening on the courts.  Fans can enjoy an array of activities from cooling off in the Stella Artois Center Court Lounge or honing your skills in the fast serve cage.
