Tennis Channel to Cover Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, July 21

TENNIS CHANNEL TO COVER HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY LIVE SATURDAY, JULY 21

 

Former Grand Slam Champions Michael Stich

and Helena Sukova to be Enshrined at 12:30 p.m. ET

 

LOS ANGELES, July 18, 2018 – Tennis Channel will have live coverage of the 2018 International Tennis Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Newport, R.I., on Saturday, July 21, beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. Michael Stich, 1991 Wimbledon champion, and Helena Sukova, a 14-time Grand Slam champion in doubles and mixed-doubles, will be immortalized among the greatest players of all-time during the afternoon. After the ceremony on Tennis Channel, viewers can watch on-demand on Tennis Channel Plus, the network’s digital subscription service.

 

Stich reached the World No. 2 ranking in singles and won 18 titles during a nine-year career. He was a finalist at the 1994 US Open and 1996 French Open, and won the 1992 Wimbledon doubles title. Sukova reached World No. 4 in singles and World No. 1 in doubles. She was a singles finalist at the 1984 and 1989 Australian Open and 1986 and 1993 US Open. Sukova won 69 doubles titles and the 1992 WTA Tour Finals doubles crown.

 

Award-winning sportscasters Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) and Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will join Chanda Rubin (@Chanda_Rubin) and Mark Knowles (@knowlzee10s), both Grand Slam champions in doubles,as the network’s on-air team in Newport this weekend.

 

Along with the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony this weekend, Tennis Channel has had coverage all week of the Dell Technologies Hall of Fame Open and will have complete live coverage of the quarterfinals, semifinals and final (schedule follows). The field of players includes American Steve Johnson, German Mischa Zverev and World No. 22 Adrian Mannarino. Tennis Channel Plus will feature on-demand matches throughout the week following their live conclusions. Tennis Channel’s digital platforms will also offer live streaming from the studio desk hosted by Weissman on Friday and Saturday.
