(September 16. 2018) The ITF has announced the results for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinals and
World Group play-offs that took place on 14-16 September, the Zone Group I ties that took place on
14-15 September and the Zone Group II ties that took place on 15-16 September (NB: Egypt v
Finland took place on 14-15 September). A total of 18 ties were held this weekend.
France will host Croatia in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final on 23-25 November. The two losing
semifinalists, Spain and USA, will contest the new Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Finals event in 2019.
The eight World Group play-off winners, Argentina, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain,
Japan, Serbia and Sweden, will join the four losing quarterfinalists from 2018, Belgium, Germany,
Italy and Kazakhstan, as seeded nations in the draw for the 2019 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Finals
Qualifying Round.
The draw will take place at the ITF headquarters in London on Wednesday 26 September and will be
live streamed on DavisCup.com and the Davis Cup Facebook page. The 12 unseeded nations in
February’s Qualifying Round will be determined by the Davis Cup Nations Ranking of Monday 17
September, with six nations coming from Europe/Africa, three from Americas and three from
Asia/Oceania.
