TENNIS CHANNEL TO PROVIDE EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE OF CHARLESTON’S VOLVO CAR OPEN APRIL 1-7

Nearly 100 Hours of Live Play Between Network’s On-Air and Online Platforms

LOS ANGELES, March 25, 2019 – For the third straight year Tennis Channel will be the exclusive home of the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, S.C., beginning on Monday, April 1. Once again the network will give the tournament comprehensive national exposure with more than 50 live television hours throughout the week. Digital subscription service Tennis Channel Plus will have live matches during the event as well, offering more than 35 hours.

Between television and digital streaming, Tennis Channel will give fans more than 100 hours of tennis from the Family Circle Tennis Center with live and encore broadcasts. Coverage typically begins at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day. With two TV courts, Tennis Channel Plus will also provide exclusive outer-court match play.

Tennis Channel will be on-site with a studio desk at the Volvo Car Open again in 2019, along with lead-in show Tennis Channel Live. Hall of Famers Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76) and Tracy Austin (@thetracyaustin) are joined by former World No. 6 Chanda Rubin (@Chanda_Rubin) as network analysts. Mary Carillo, Ted Robinson (@tedjrobinson) and Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) round out the on-air team as play-by-play announcers.

“This event is a wonderful showcase for our sport and I’m happy to be back here with Tennis Channel,” said Davenport. “The tournament is one of the most important of the women’s tour and it’s great for it to have this spotlight.”

Tennis Channel’s social media accounts will have additional content during the Volvo Car Open: Facebook (www.facebook.com/tennischannel), Twitter (www.twitter.com/tennischannel) Instagram (http://instagram.com/tennischannel).
