
Johnson, Bryans Top Seeds at River Oaks
Play Opens Saturday at River Oaks with FREE Qualifying Rounds
(April 5, 2019) HOUSTON – Two-time defending champion Steve Johnson is the top singles seed for the 2019 Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship while the six-time doubles winners Bob and Mike Bryan are the top doubles seeds.
Johnson will have a bye in the opening round, then will play either Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi or a qualifier to begin his title defense.
The Bryans will play face the American wild card team of Robert Galloway and Nathaniel Lammons to start their 2019 tournament.
Four more spots remain in the singles draw and will be determined through the two-round qualifying tournament that begins at 10 am Saturday. Admission is free for Saturday’s play.
