(April 29, 2019) At Gotham Hall in New York City on Mondya night the Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program held its Spring Gala to celebrate its 47th year. Honored during the gala were: former tennis player and current tennis broadcaster Chanda Rubin with the Shining Star award,  Zack Davis, long-time tennis instructor, with the Harlem Hero Award and Deborah Larkin, Chief Advocacy Officer of the Women’s Sports Foundation with the Shining Star Award.

The Harlem Junior Tennis and Education Program (HJTEP), a not-for-profit organization founded in 1972, opens a new door for many inner-city boys and girls, ages 7-18, to learn the game of tennis. They enroll about 1,000 students during the school year and 150-300 in our summer program.  For more information visit www.HJTEP.org The Executive Director is the former prof and most recent past United States Tennis Association CEO and current International Tennis Federation board member Katrina Adams.
