Eubanks and Young to Team Up for Doubles in Atlanta Open

(July 9, 2019) Atlanta’s top two ATP World Tour pros, Chris Eubanks and Donald Young will once again join forces in Atlanta, as the duo has accepted a main draw doubles wildcard into the 2019 BB&T Atlanta Open presented by First Data.

In 2018, the Eubanks/Young pairing defeated Matthew Ebden and Jackson Withrow in the opening round and then fell to 2018 BB&T Atlanta Open doubles champions, Nicholas Monroe and John-Patrick Smith 4-6, 7-6(3), 10-8 in the quarterfinals.

Eubanks, and Atlanta native, former Georgia Tech All-American and two-time ACC Player of the Year, reached the doubles quarterfinals of the Oracle Indian Wells Challenger earlier in 2019.

Young has reached the finals of one Challenger and semis of another to highlight his doubles play in 2019. He is a two-time doubles semifinalist in Atlanta.

BB&T Atlanta Open Tournament Director, Eddie Gonzalez, had previously announced that two-time Atlanta champions, the Bryan Brothers, will also return for 2019.

John Isner, coming off his most successful year in 2018, and looking for his sixth Atlanta title is slated to be the top seed for the event running July 20-28, at Atlantic Station.

“Obviously I love to play in Georgia and to compete at the BB&T Atlanta Open where I feel at home and have had so much success,” stated Isner. “I can’t wait to get back on court at Atlantic Station in front of all those supportive tennis and Bulldog fans.”

The current ATP World Tour No. 11, is now shooting for something rare and special. Winning the same title six times. Isner holds a career mark of 31-4 in Atlanta and is looking to join the ranks of Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors as the fifth American to win an ATP World Tour title on six occasions.

The BB&T Atlanta Open has welcomed more than 360,000 fans to Atlantic Station over the years, establishing itself as one of the top ATP tennis events in the US.  Tickets for the 2019 BB&T Atlanta Open can be purchased at http://www.bbtatlantaopen.com/

The new tournament venue, just steps from the previous entrance will offer more shade and air conditioning, more space for activation’s and suite location closer to court- just five rows from the action.
