
Caroline Dolehide, Usue Arconada Reach Medal-Round Weekend
at Pan American Games
August 1, 2019 — Caroline Dolehide and Usue Arconada will compete for a medal in women’s doubles and will both play for a spot in the medal rounds of women’s singles at the 2019 Pan American Games, as the American duo reached the women’s doubles semifinals on Thursday and will both compete in the women’s singles quarterfinals on Friday in Lima, Peru.
The pair of 20-year olds defeated Peru’s Dominique Schaefer and Dana Guzman, 6-1, 6-1, in the doubles quarterfinals on Thursday and will play for a spot in the gold-medal match on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
The women’s singles quarterfinals will also take place on Friday. Arconada, of Naples, Fla., will play Argentina’s Nadia Podoroska, while Dolehide, of Hinsdale, Ill., will play Chile’s Daniela Seguel. The women’s singles quarterfinals begin at noon ET on Friday.
