Team Europe defeats the World to Three-peat at Laver Cup

(September 22, 2019) Team Europe has won the Laver Cup in Geneva, hoisting the trophy for the third consecutive year in the stunning teams competition.

Alexander Zverev won the deciding point 6-4 3-6 10-4 in a thrilling final match against Team World’s Milos Raonic, with his teammates cheering and coaching him from the sidelines, in what has become a hallmark of the event.

Europe, led by Captain Bjorn Borg, has now won all three editions of the Laver Cup.

The dramatic final day of competition saw Jack Sock and John Isner defeat Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas in doubles, before Taylor Fritz defeated Dominic Thiem to give World an 11-7 lead.

Federer brought Europe back into contention with a straight-sets win over Isner, setting up a winner-take-all showdown between Zverev and Raonic. Read more here.

During the trophy presentation it was revealed Boston will host the fourth edition of the Laver Cup from September 25-27, 2020.

Tennis Australia produced the Laver Cup Host Broadcast for a third consecutive year
