CoCo Vandeweghe and Marcos Giron win Singles Titles at Oracle Challenger Series Houston
(November 17, 2019) The Oracle Challenger Series Houston, was held at the George R. Brown Tennis Center at Rice University from November 10-17.
The women’s final featured incredibly high-quality tennis between two Tour veterans in American wild card CoCo Vandeweghe and the No. 3-seeded Belgian Kirsten Flipkens.
After an intense battle featuring a contrast of styles, Flipkens emerged victorious 7-6(4), 6-4.
The men’s final served up one of the most epic and unprecedented matches in Oracle Challenger Series history, with American Marcos Giron saving six match points in a final set tiebreaker to defeat No. 3 seed Ivo Karlovic 7-5, 6-7(5), 7-6(9).
