131st Annual Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship Begins on February 23

 

LA JOLLA, Calif. – (February 20, 2020) – The deadline to enter the 131st Annual Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Tennis Championship is Sunday, February 23. The tournament will be played Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club.

The historic tennis event, which originated in Northern California in 1890, will feature a strong field of collegiate players, along with independent competitors including top teaching professionals, promising juniors, college coaches and former touring professionals.

Many of the best NCAA Men’s college teams in the country are expected to compete, including:

Boston College                                UC Irvine    
Ball State                                          UC Los Angeles
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS)    UC San Diego
Oklahoma State University             University of San Diego
Pepperdine                                       University of Southern California
San Diego State University             University of Michigan
Stanford                                            Villanova
UC Berkeley                                     Washington University St Louis

“The Pacific Coast Men’s Doubles Championship is a unique tennis event with collegiate and independent players competing in the same draw,” said Tournament Director Bill Kellogg. “This tournament is an amazing opportunity to play against high-level competition. I urge all interested players to sign up before our entry deadline.”

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club welcomes tennis spectators to view the tournament with free admission. On-site parking is available for a nominal fee.

Fans can tune-in to RadioTennis.com on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 to listen to live audio play-by-play of the day’s matches on Court No. 1 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Tennis broadcaster Ken Thomas will provide live web cast commentary at https://radiotennis.com/.
