Doubles Champions Crowned at Oracle Challenger Series Indian Wells
(March 7, 2020) The singles semifinals on the men’s side featured an all-American line-up, with USC Trojan legend Steve Johnson taking the win 6-4, 6-4 over Mitchell Krueger and Jack Sock winning a tight one over teenager Brandon Nakashima. On the women’s side, Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu took down Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko to set up a final against Japan’s Misaki Doi, who received a walkover into the finals after Vera Zvonareva was forced to withdraw.
Saturday also saw Champions crowned in doubles, featuring two matchups between all-American teams. In the end, Asia Muhammad/Taylor Townsend and Denis Kudla/Thai-Son Kwiatkowski emerged victorious.
