More withdrawals from US Open including 2014 Finalist Kei Nishikori
(August 26, 2020) 2014 finalist Kei Nishikori of Japan has withdrawn from the US Open. Nishikori had tested positive for COVID-19 and withdrew from this wee’s Western & Southern Open. He recently tested negative but still pulled out of the New York major. The 30-year-old is currently ranked 31 in the world. He is replaced in the main draw by Andrey Kuznetsov of Russia.

More withdrawals in the women’s event which include 2017 French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, Tamara Zidansek and Polona Hercog both of Slovenia.
They are replaced in the draw by Whitney Osuigwe of the US, Anhelina Kalinina of the Ukraine and former US Open semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium.
Katrina Scott of the US will receive the the wild card previously awarded to Osuigwe.
