
Sabalenka Captures Third Straight Abu Dhabi Crown
(January 13, 2021) Fourth seed Aryna Sabalenka claimed her third straight Abu Dhabi WTA Women’s Tennis Open on Wednesday with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Veronika Kudermetova of Russia. It’s also her third straight tournament title win, claiming championship trophies in Ostrava and Linz in 2020.

The Belarusian is on a career 15-match winning streak. The world No. 10 will rise to a career-high ranking of No. 7 next week. She now has nine WTA Tour titles.
For Veronika Kudermetova, it was her first career WTA Tour final. She’ll move up to No. 36 in the world, a career-high.
