Montreal, June 29, 2023 – Tennis Canada, organizers of the 2023 National Bank Open presented by Rogers, has announced that Caroline Wozniacki, former World No. 1 and champion at the 2010 edition of the tournament, will receive a wild card into the main draw of the event taking place in Montreal from August 4 to 13. After stepping away from the game in 2020 and giving birth to two children, the Danish star revealed today that she will be returning to professional tennis and will begin her comeback on Canadian soil.
“I am extremely grateful to have been given the opportunity to play at the National Bank Open,” said Wozniacki. “I won my first big title in Montreal when I was just 20 years old, making it particularly fitting to be the tournament that kickstarts this second chapter in my career. I cannot wait to get back on the courts and compete against the best players in the world. I have missed it tremendously.”
