Carlos Alcaraz, Jessica Pegula, Frances Tiafoe, Elina Svitolina Among the Players Set For Event that will Raise Money for Ukraine Humanitarian Relief

Flushing, N.Y., August 16, 2023 – The USTA today announced that the lineup for Stars of the Open, the US Open Fan Week charity event that will raise money for humanitarian relief in Ukraine, is set to include many of tennis’ top stars, with appearances from several marquee names across sports and entertainment. 

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will take on Top-10 player Frances Tiafoe in the event’s featured match. Alcaraz and Tiafoe will be joined by other top stars on Wednesday, August 23, at 7 p.m., in Louis Armstrong Stadium. The event is one of the signature events of US Open Fan Week.

The event will also include a series of mixed doubles matches, featuring four-time US Open Men’s Singles Champion John McEnroe, 2019 US Open Champion Bianca Andreescu, along with Chris Eubanks, Matteo Berrettini, Elina Svitolina, and Jessica Pegula. Pegula, the highest-ranked American woman, will be enlisting the support of “ACE,” a K9S for warriors service dog in training.

Special guests joining the tennis stars will include NBA Superstar Jimmy Butler and Grammy-award singer Sebastián Yatra. Tickets for the event are available for $25 and $50 through TicketMaster. One hundred percent of the face value of each ticket will go towards supporting Ukrainian humanitarian relief efforts through GlobalGiving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund.
