
(August 27, 2023) FLUSHING, NY – The USTA reports that forty-three Americans (24 women and 19 men) are set to compete in the singles main draws of the 2023 US Open, completing a year in which the U.S. led all nations at every Grand Slam in main draw singles participants.
Aside from the 32 that competed in 2020, a year in which the field was impacted by COVID-19 travel restrictions, the 24 American women is the most at the US Open since 25 in 2004.
Of the 19 men, five are seeded, which is the most American men seeded at the US Open also since 2004.
