MAIN DRAW NOTES
– Eleven American players will compete in Monday’s main draw action across both singles and doubles.
– American Jenson Brooksby, seeded eighth, begins his title defense on Monday. Last year, he won seven straight matches as a qualifier to capture the 2025 US Clay title.
– Brooksby takes on fellow American Mackenzie McDonald, the 2016 NCAA singles champion for UCLA, in his opening match.
– Top-seeded Ben Shelton, the 2024 US Clay champion, begins his 2026 campaign in doubles alongside former Florida Gator teammate, Andres Andrade.
– American Next Gen stars and Southern California natives, Alex Michelsen and Learner Tien, also kick off their week with doubles. Teaming together, they face defending doubles champion Fernando Romboli and Santiago Gonzalez, who won the event in 2019 and finished runner-up last year.
– Colton Smith, a former University of Arizona standout and 2025 US Clay quarterfinalist, concludes the night session on Stadium Court against Thiago Agustin Tirante of Argentina.
– A trio of ATP doubles veterans, who collectively own 10 major titles, nearly 100 ATP titles and just under 1500 career match wins, will each compete in Monday’s doubles action: American Rajeev Ram, Australian John Peers, and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands.
