
| Back-to-Back Titles Boosts Marta Kostyuk’s Position on PIF Race to WTA Finals Leaderboard |
| (May 4, 2026) WTA – ST. PETERSBURG, FL, USA –A strong start to the 2026 clay-court swing has paved the way for Marta Kostyuk’s climb to the Top 10 on the Race to the WTA Finals Leaderboard. Through to her first career WTA 1000 final, the Mutua Madrid Open champion, Kostyuk, climbs to No.9 on this week’s Leaderboard after starting the clay-swing at No.42. Her title run at Madrid extended her clay-court win streak to 11-straight coupled with her title run at WTA 250 Open Capfinances Rouen Metropole in addition to last week’s victory in Spain. A finalist in Madrid, Mirra Andreeva continues her climb up the Leaderboard moving up to No.4. Following a title run at WTA 500 Upper Austria Ladies Linz, a semifinal effort at WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix (Stuttgart) and most recently her finalist performance in Madrid, Andreeva has surged to the Top 4 after starting the clay-court swing at No.8 on the Leaderboard. Top 3 on the Leaderboard remain the same entering the Internazionali BNL d’Italia (Rome) with Elena Rybakina holding at No.1, Aryna Sabalenka at No.2 and Jessica Pegula at No.3. |
| Madrid semifinalists Hailey Baptiste and Anastasia Potapova used semifinal runs in Madrid to improve their standing on the Leaderboard as Baptiste jumped to No.16 (from No.26) and Potapova moved to No.17 (from No.32). Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend captured their third consecutive WTA 1000 doubles title together in Madrid after previously completing the Sunshine Double at Indian Wells and Miami. The duo’s 15-match win streak pushes their Leaderboard position to No.2, trailing only top-ranked Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic. |
