US Open Announces Mixed Doubles Entry List

(July 27, 2026) The USTA announced the initial list of teams officially entered into the 2026 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship. The second year of the reimagined championship is expanded competition featuring Qualifying and global broadcast distribution and primetime placement on ESPN. The 2026 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship will be played Monday, August 24, to Wednesday, August 26, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, with both Monday and Tuesday featuring free-to-attend matches in Grandstand and Louis Armstrong Stadium, respectively.

USTA CEO Craig Tiley said, “Anytime you can bring women and men together on the same team, you showcase tennis at its best. This is exactly what the Mixed Doubles Championship does. We are proud to again bring the world’s top players together in a format that will provide exciting entertainment for our fans. The Mixed Doubles Championship is an innovation that will engage new audiences and give our fans another opportunity to see the biggest stars compete together.”

The entry window will close at noon on Monday, August 17, at which time the top six teams with the best combined singles ranking at the time will officially be directly accepted into the Main Draw field. Eight teams will be determined via wild card and announced on a date to follow. Two teams will earn a main draw spot by advancing through the eight-team Qualifying draw played on Monday, August 24. The Qualifying field will feature six direct entries and two wild cards.

2026 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship Schedule and Format

Monday, August 24 – Qualifying (Eight teams competing for two entries)
Grandstand;11 a.m. start (Free to attend with Fan Access Pass)

Tuesday, August 25 – First Round and Quarterfinals

Louis Armstrong Stadium; 10 a.m. start (Free to attend with Fan Access Pass)
Arthur Ashe Stadium; 11 a.m. start (Tickets start at $30)

Wednesday, August 26 – Semifinals and Final
Arthur Ashe Stadium; 7 p.m. start (Tickets start at $45)

ESPN will present the 2026 US Open, including US Open Qualifying and Mixed Doubles Championship, both beginning Monday, August 24. The complete 2026 US Open schedule on ESPN will be announced at a later date.

Scoring and match format:

Qualifying through the Semifinals: Best-of-three-set matches with sets to four games; no-ad scoring (tiebreak at four-all); 10-point tie-break in lieu of third set.
Final: Best-of-three set match with sets to six games (tie-break at six-all); no-ad scoring; 10-point tie-break in lieu of third set.

2026 US Open Main Draw Singles Entry Lists Released

(July 21, 2026) The USTA released the men’s and women’s singles entry lists for the 2026 US Open.

World No. 1s and past US Open Champions Aryna Sabalenka (2024 and 2025) and Jannik Sinner (2024) lead their respective fields, with Sabalenka aiming to become the first woman to win three consecutive US Open singles titles since Serena Williams (2012-2014). They’re followed by world No. 2s Elena Rybakina, the reigning Australian Open champion, and Alexander Zverev, the 2026 French Open champion, and world No. 3s Carlos Alcaraz, a two-time US Open men’s singles champion, and 2024 US Open singles finalist Jessica Pegula.

The field includes 17 total former major singles champions (11 women, six men), including 10 former US Open champions.

The United States leads all nations with 28 players (14 women and 14 men) earning direct entry into the main draw.

The American women are led by Pegula, No. 4 Coco Gauff, and No. 9 Amanda Anisimova, while the American men in the field include Top-10 players Ben Shelton and Taylor Fritz.

Eight total players (five women, three men) are using special or protected rankings, including Lois Boisson (No. 38), Juncheng Shang (No. 56), Irina-Camelia Begu (No. 82) and Thanasi Kokkinakis (No. 84).

Both the men’s and women’s entries were based on the July 20 rankings. The women’s cutoff was No. 102, while the men’s cutoff was No. 101.

The 2026 US Open runs Sunday, August 23-Sunday, September 13, with the Singles Main Draws beginning on Sunday, August 30.

Wimbledon – Sinner Defends Wimbledon Title for Fifth Major

(July 12, 2026) Jannick Sinner topped Alexander Zverev 6-7 (7), 7-6 (2), 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday to defend his Wimbledon title. For the Italian, he has now won five total major titles. Zverev has moved up to No. 2 in the world, hopping over Carlos Alcaraz who has been off the tour with a wrist injury. Sinner is the tenth man to successfully defend his title at the All-England Club.

“We both started off very well. We prepared in the best possible way, me and my team, so I have to thank the whole team and the whole support I get from the whole box,” Sinner said during the trophy ceremony. “It has been an amazing final once again and it always takes two players and Sascha and I tried to give everything we had. I am very happy about the win, but also the level that we both played.”

“Every Grand Slam is different,” said the 24-year-old, coming off an early exit from Roland Garros. “Different story, different environment, different feelings before the tournament.

“This one means a lot because it was a tough one after Paris again. Last year was also tough. But coming here, I tried to put myself in the best position to be as competitive as possible.

“We put in a lot of workdays….very, very long, definitely sacrificing a lot of my time and everything to be in this position. Having this achievement means a lot to me. It was an amazing day.”

“These are very, very rare days.”

“I’m very happy that I’m trying to do my best every day. Sometimes you have a tournament with a good outcome, and sometimes you just don’t,” Sinner continued.

“There is no failure if you don’t win a Grand Slam. Now I have five in my whole life. We talk about five Grand Slams, but that’s five days out of so many other days. These are very, very rare days.

“You just want to enjoy it. Today was a very tough day. If I lose, it’s still a great day. Playing a Grand Slam final, it’s so rare and so special.”

“You reached one of your main goals winning in Grand Slams and you made it happen in Paris,” he told the the 29-year-old German. “Today you were so close. If you play like this, I’m very sure you’re going have this one at home as well. I know another goal is for you to be No.1 in the world. You’re very close – so we need to be very careful now.”

Sinner is slated to play the next Masters Series event in Canada. He has won all five Masters events played so far this year.

Wimbledon Day 12 – Sinner and Zverev Set Up a 1 vs. 2 Final

(July 10, 2026) After a topsy-turvy fortnight which saw so many seeds fall in the early rounds, the Wimbledon Gentlemen’s final will feature No. 1 Jannik Sinner versus Alexander Zverev.

The 24-year-old Italian avenged an Australian Open semifinal loss to Novak Djokovic by stopping the Serbian in his quest for 25^th major 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Friday on Centre Court.

The defending champion will face French Open champion Alexander Zverev of Germany for the title. The German ended the “Ferytale” run of British wild card Arthur Fery in straight sets to begin the day on Centre court 7-6(0), 6-2, 6-4.

“Amazing (to be in the final again) The atmosphere has been amazing since the first day and it means a lot to me that I can play one more final here,” Sinner said in his on-court interview. “It’s the most special tournament we have, and it means a lot to me. Of course, playing against Novak and what he has been showing, it’s a true inspiration. Not only for (the fans) but also for the new generation. What he is still doing is amazing.”

“We always have very tough matches, and the last one he won in the semis in Australia,” Sinner said. “So I tried to make a couple of adjustments, even though here on grass it is very difficult.

“He had a very tough match, the last one against Felix, which we will remember I think forever here in this arena. I tried to stay quite aggressive, serving very well which helped me a lot today. He’s probably the best returner we have in our game, so I tried to mix it up. I’m very happy about today’s performance.”

“For 99% of the players, that would be a very good Grand Slam result,” Djokovic said to media. “For me, it’s good but not good enough, because I’m blessed and cursed to be used to something of a highest degree in terms of results and achievements.

“I always have the highest expectations for myself,” Djokovic added. “So it’s kind of that internal battle really of what I’ve been through for the 20-plus years of my career, what the goals were always, the expectations, and trying to balance it out and really be a little more humble in that sense.”

Djokovic hopes to be back at Wimbledon next year, when he’ll be 40. “I would like to, at least one more time,” he said.

“I feel when I’m healthy,” Djokovic added, “I’m still able to play as a top-five player, still able to compete at the highest level.”

Sinner goes into the Wimbledon final having beaten Zverev nine straight times.

“I have to trust myself and I have to believe that I can win and that’s what I’m going to do,” Zverev said before he knew who his opponent was going to be.

Wimbledon Day 10 – Fery Extends Dream Run to the Semis to Face Zverev, Noskova and Kostyuk Complete Women’s Final Four Line Up

(July 8, 2026) The “Fairytale” run has been extended for Briton Arthur Fery. The 23-year-old former Stanford University player stopped No. 9 seed Flavio Cobolli of Italy 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-0 on Centre Court in the presence of Britain’s Queen Camilla in the Royal Box.

He is the fifth British man to reach the Wimbledon semifinals in the Open Era after Roger Taylor, Tim Henman, Andy Murray and Cameron Norrie.

“I played Flavio earlier this year and I beat him in Australia, which was a boost of confidence and I knew that I could do it,” Fery said. “Even though it was my first time in the quarter-finals and he has done it before in a Grand Slam, that gave me a little boost of confidence. I just kept going. I was very nervous beforehand but just kept going to the finish line.”

Coming into the tournament, the wild card who grew up near Wimbledon was World No. 114, but now the current ATP Live rankings have him at No. 36. Should he reach the final, he’ll rise to 26.

“It gets better and better every match,” Fery said in his on-court interview. “I just can’t believe it. Incredible, playing on Centre Court for the second time, a second win. I just can’t believe it.”

The only other wild card to reach the final four was in 2001 Goran Ivanisevic, who went on to win the tournament.

Fery will be playing current French Open winner Alexander Zverev, the second seed in the final four.

“I guess it’s going to be a first time and we will figure it out as we go,” Fery said when asked about playing Zverev, who had just won his match against Taylor Fritz. “I’m just going to keep going. I’ve been doing a great job over the past 10 days. I’m just going to do the same thing and see where that takes me.”

Zverev beat Fritz in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. Fritz was a few games into the match when his knee tendinitis started flaring up.

“I was just like panicking, ‘What am I going to do?’” said Fritz. “I just didn’t expect it at all.”

“He’s beaten me for two years straight,” Zverev said. “I played a fantastic match.”

While Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk played on Centre Court on Wednesday, her countrymen and family were dealing with an attack from Russia in Kyiv.

“It’s not easy to disconnect entirely,” Kostyuk said after beating former Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini in straight sets to reach her first Wimbledon semifinal.

“It was really tough for me last week when the first big attack happened,” Kostyuk said to media. “Then on Monday they ruined like four streets of residential buildings. It was like five kilometers away from where my parents live. Again, another difficult night and a lot of dead people, innocent people, kids. It’s not easy. I try to be aware of everything that’s going on. Of course, I try for these things not to influence me too much.”

Kostyuk is not pleased with the International Olympic Committee now allowing Russia back into the Olympic Games.

“My thoughts are that it’s terrible,” Kostyuk said. “I think it’s very, very far from fair play for all the countries involved here, not just for Ukraine. I 100% don’t agree with this decision. … I just want to go out there and hopefully beat every single Russian I play in the Olympics.”

“For sure, it was a very good match,” Kostyuk said to the media about her play. “Happy with the performance. I think I did well tactically. It’s never easy to go out for the first time on Centre Court. I didn’t know how I’m going to handle this and how I’m going to perform. So happy with everything.”

She’s hoping to become the first Ukrainian to reach the Wimbledon final. First, the 12^th seed will have to get past the No. 9 seed, Czech Linda Noskova.

Noskova beat Elise Mertens 6-3, 7-5. Noskova, at 21 is the youngest player to gain her first semifinal berth at Wimbledon since countrywoman Petra Kvitova did it in 2010

“The feelings are incredible, like never before” Noskova said in her on-court interview. “This is what I’m playing tennis for…for these matches, for these big stages and big courts. It’s truly a special feeling.

“I was a little bit nervous before the match, I’m not going to lie. Usually when it’s really, really important for me and I’m putting a little bit of pressure on myself, that’s when I play the best. When I’m feeling a little nervous, that means that I care a lot.”

“This is never gonna be easy. None of these matches are… Marta is an incredible player. We’ve had a few matches now.”
